People at Listening Books

Full and part time staff, trustees and volunteers.

Would you like to volunteer in the library?

Do you have the right skills to help a very unique charity? To provide audiobooks to those who are unable to access standard print due to a disability? Can you give at least 1 day a week for 3 months to our offices in SE1 to help unpack, rewind, and shelve cassette tapes and help with a variety of admin. duties? If so call 020 7407 9417 or email: volunteer@listening-books.org.uk for more information and an application pack. Training will be provided and expenses paid.

Would you like to Volunteer?

We mainly use trained actors for narration, though anyone is welcome to send in an audition tape or CD for consideration. Ideally the tape should contain at least two examples of your voice, reading different book genres (e.g. fiction, non-fiction, children's). We record during office hours, Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm. It typically takes three months to complete a book, recording one or two sessions a week.

Please send your audition tapes/CDs to:

The Studios, Listening Books, 12 Lant St. London SE1 1QH.
