Membership
How does the service work?
There are three membership options that individuals under 25 can choose to join the service. (please see below for Organisation options). If you are over 25 please see our main website www.listening-books.org.uk
Option 4: Internet streaming only (£20.00 per year)
Option 3: MP3 CD only (£35.00 per year)
Option 2: MP3 CD and internet streaming (£45.00 per year)
Option 1: Only available to people over 25
For our postal service (MP3 CDs) members are given an allocation of two audiobooks at a time. You will be sent a catalogue of our titles on CD-ROM and a request list. Once you have chosen the titles you would like please send the request list back to us in the freepost envelope provided. As soon as we receive this list we will begin sending your audiobooks to you. When you have finished with your first audiobook simply post it back to us. All postage and packing costs are included in the annual membership fee. When we receive an audiobook back from you we will send you another one from your request list.
If you choose a membership option which includes internet streaming you are provided with a unique user name and password to access over 500 audiobooks from this website. Please click here to listen to a sample of titles.
We understand that particular titles may be required at certain points in the academic year to help you with your studies. If this is the case, you can either send a note in your returned book, or contact the library directly on 020 7234 0522 who will be able to give you up to date information on the availability of the title and add it to your request list if required.
What if I can't pay?
In some instances Listening Books may be able to obtain funding from charitable trusts to pay for members who otherwise could not join the service. Please contact Louise Powell on 020 7407 9417 (email: lpowell@listening-books.org.uk) to discuss your situation. Regrettably, we cannot help with membership costs for organisations.
School Membership
There are three membership options that organisations can choose to join the service.
Option 4: Internet streaming only starts from £20.00 per year for 1 internet password.
Option 3: MP3 CD only starts from £75.00 per year for 4 CDs at any one time.
Option 2: MP3 CD and internet streaming starts from £90.00 for 4 CDs at any one time and 2 internet passwords.
Option 1: Only available to organisations who support people over 25
If you require more than 4 CDs at one time please call our library team on 0207 234 0522 who will explain the membership costs. Any additional internet passwords needed are available at £20.00 each.

There is no limit to the number of times you can change the audiobooks throughout the year. How do I join?
There are two ways to join Listening Books.
1. You can request an information pack (for a child, adult or organisation) which contains further details about the service and an application form for you to complete and return.
2. Or you can telephone our Membership Services Assistants on 020 7234 0522 who will be happy to complete your application over the phone.
